Your Care Book

Every Eemli piece is made slowly and thoughtfully. With a little care, it will soften, settle, and stay with you for years to come.

Here’s how to look after your handcrafted textiles.

Handwoven & Blockprinted Textiles

Our fabrics are wither handwoven or, in many cases, hand block printed. Because they are made using traditional techniques and natural fibres, gentle care goes a long way.

Hand Wash Preferred:
Gently wash in cold water for best results.

Machine Wash (Only If Necessary):
Use a gentle cycle with cold water and wash separately.

Detergent:
Choose a mild detergent. Avoid bleach, as it can weaken fibres and affect colour.

Drying:
Hang to dry in the shade. Direct sunlight may cause fading over time.

Ironing:
Use a warm iron or steam. For delicate fabrics, iron on low heat.

Natural Dyes

Some of our pieces are made using natural or traditional dyeing methods.

In the first few washes, you may notice slight colour bleeding. This is normal. To prevent staining, wash separately and avoid soaking for long periods.

Over time, the colours may soften gently. We see this as part of the fabric’s journey.

Variations & Slubs

You may notice small variations in weave, print, or colour. Tiny slubs in the fabric. Slight shifts in alignment.

These are not imperfections. They are part of the handcrafted process and a reminder that your piece was made by hand, not by machine.

Embroidered & Hemmed Pieces

If your piece includes embroidery or hemming, handle it gently. Avoid harsh scrubbing or stiff brushes, and wash with care to protect the threads.

Let It Evolve

Handcrafted textiles are meant to live with you. With time, they will soften and take on character. Subtle changes in texture or colour are natural and part of what makes each piece uniquely yours.
